Mindfulness has been shown to be helpful for many groups of people managing challenging situations. For children in single-parent families, there can be increased challenges, so this randomised controlled trial was designed to test the effect of a 6-week mindfulness intervention for these children in a population in Tibet. The results showed improvement in self-compassion and resilience in the children, suggesting this may be a cost-effective way of supporting them.
