Dr Taylor gave an oral presentation entitled “Physical activity for children with ADHD” Young
people managing symptoms of attention deficit disorders, including ADHD and ADD are less
likely to engage in the recommended amount of moderate to vigorous physical activity than
their neurotypical peers. To help them maintain participation and enjoy physical activities Dr
Taylor and co-workers worked with young people affected by attention deficit to select
activities they found most engaging. Dr Taylor’s research team then took the chosen
activities and tested them for acceptability and enjoyment in school classes including those
with and without attention deficit challenges.
