A large cohort of Chinese 10 – 13 year olds provided data based on the Canadian 24-hour movement behaviour recommendations guidelines for children and youths, including physical activity level, time spent using electronic devices including phones and computers, and sleep duration, as well as symptoms of anxiety and of depression. The results showed that those who met all of the recommendations had significantly lower symptoms of anxiety and depression, while those meeting one or none of the recommendations had high levels, supporting a more holistic approach to evaluating mental and physical health in this age group.
